Some of Sam

Sam Millar

The Initial Years
From an Irish family at the age of seven Sam Millar stood alongside his family performing traditional Pop & Country Music standards of the time. His many Performances, in clubs and pubs prepared him well for what was to become a lifetime love of music. Sam’’s roots in Pop and Country Music proved an influence on his on going song writing career and in late 2002 he sent a demo of his material to the head of CMR Nashville. From this he met the owner Lee Williams, who told him: “Pack your bags, you’’re going to Nashville!”. Nine hours flying time later, overdosing on Shania Twain, a visit backstage at the “Grand Ole Oprey” and three interviews on American TV Followed by endless hours in the studio of which he produced twelve riveting tracks. One of which “She Is Just Too Hot For Me” was released as a single and was subsequently nominated for “Best Single” in the Country Radio Awards 2003, compiled and supported by BBC Radio. The single was then featured on Sky News and Channel 4’s Big Breakfast programme, plus ITV, BBC and a variety of other prominent TC and Radio Stations throughout the UK and Eu Sam then went to work for Jonathan Shalit of Shalit Global and a handful of top producers and remains today active as a singer songwriter. Has 6 songs on EMI and has just come back from Nashville were he recored his second album 'Saturday Night' due for relese in May 2009. Sam looks forward to the year ahead, up and on!

Sam Millar has returned from Nashville Tennessee, where he has recorded an album featuring eleven of his own self penned songs, plus a cover of 'I Can See Clearly Now' that has been begging to be re-recorded, with a new feel.

The album is called 'Saturday Night' and will now be released this month on the new CMR Hot Label, a division of Django Promotions and a network of radio stations. The album reached the Number One Spot for three weeks. (See Below) or See This Month's Review.

'Thank You Very Much' was released a few months ago as a promotional single to the industry, and picked up many plays around the world and charted in the top 20 of no less than 3 Indie Charts.

Although the album was recorded in Nashville, Sam got the music direction he was looking for. With their top musicians and singers, it is not a stereotypical Country Music album. All the tracks have a POP/MOR feel with an emphasis on good fun and emotions that come with a Saturday night.

Sam Millar enjoyed his return to Nashville for his second album, but went there this time with a handful of his songs that relate to today without getting caught up in any specific genre. Sam had great success from his previous album '9 Hours 2 Nashville' with many TV appearances, and tracks being used on 4 EMI Compilation albums. His music has progressed from this album and the results are on 'Saturday Night'.

Both of these records are available from Sam's SHOP

Sam lives in Essex in the UK with his family and looking forward to the next stage of his career.
